FAQ's:

1) I already have a Web site, Can I integrate an online store into it?
Yes. NeonUltra makes it easy for you to add e-commerce to your site. The exact steps you must take vary depending upon your current hosting plan.
Once you have built your online store, you can easily integrate it into your existing site by either providing a link to your new store front or incorporating your products into your existing site's pages.

2) What is Shopping Cart?
Software that handles an online store's catalog and ordering process .A shopping cart is the interface between a business's Web site and its internal infrastructure. Shopping carts allow consumers to select merchandise from a Web page, review what they have selected, make changes or additions, and purchase the merchandise

3) What is Merchant?
The party that offers goods or services in exchange for payment .Merchants that accept payment by card must have a relationship with an Acquiring Bank

4) What is Merchant Account?
A merchant account is a specific type of bank account designated for processing credit card transactions. Since Internet credit card sales require more stringent risk management systems, many traditional banks do not offer these specialized services.
A merchant account enables you to accept credit cards as payment for the purchase of goods and services. There are different types of merchant accounts. For example, if you have a traditional "brick and mortar" store, you can get a retail merchant account. If you want to accept credit cards on your Web site, however, you need a specialized type of merchant account known as an "Internet-ready" merchant account.
Internet-ready merchant accounts enable you to handle Internet transactions in "real time" without any human intervention. Because the risk of credit card fraud is greater when you are accepting credit cards over the Internet, these specialized merchant accounts also provide additional checks that can significantly reduce the chance of credit card fraud. Once the transactions are processed, the merchant account provider transfers the funds received from the credit card transactions from your merchant account to your bank account.

5) What is NeonUltra Payment Service?
We provide a secure link between your website, various credit card issuing institutions, acquiring Banks and the payment gateway providers.

6) What is a payment gateway?
A payment gateway is a software program integrated to a merchant's website to transmit transaction data to the credit card acquirer for authorization and settlement. Merchants gain the ability to perform real-time credit card authorizations from a web site over the Internet. Customers can pay for purchases across the Internet through credit cards within seconds, after the gateway obtains authorization from the credit card institutions.
Also an electronic application that integrates with a merchant's Web site in order to transmit transaction data to the payment card acquirer for both authorization and settlement purposes. A payment gateway accepts transactions from online merchant storefronts and routes them to a financial institution's processing system.

7) How Payment Gateway Works:
1. The shopper submits an order to the merchant's store from his or her computer.
2. The order arrives over the Internet at the merchant's store site.
3. The shopper's credit card information is submitted to the payment gateway.
4. The payment gateway sends the credit card information to financial institution that serves as the credit card processor to ensure the card is not stolen or overdrawn. The payment processor may also use fraud detection software at this time.
5. The processor sends an authorization number back to the payment gateway if the card is valid.
6. When the product is shipped, and the merchant charges the shopper's credit card, the funds are deposited in the merchant's bank

8) What are the benefits of having a payment gateway?
Security: Gateways keep customers credit card data behind firewalls so that the merchant doesn't have to worry about someone "hacking in" to their system.
Encryption: Gateways use encryption to prevent message tampering while the credit card information is being transmitted over the Internet. We provides the most secure encryption technology.
Back-up redundancy: Gateways have a backup system in place to ensure that merchants can continue processing in the event of an emergency.
Up-to-date technology: Gateways are services that are constantly upgraded to be up to date with the latest technology. And, because the gateways are not on merchants' computers, there is no need for the merchants to upgrade their hardware.
Price: Gateways save the cost of an additional phone line that would be needed in a dial application.

9) Will Payment Gateway coordinate with my own website?
With the NeonUltra turn-key solution all you need to do is edit, cut and paste lines of code into your website. Your site will then be e-commerce enabled.

10) When an order is placed how do I process the transaction?
When an online shopper purchases your merchandise, the payment gateway automatically obtains a purchase authorization for the credit card the shopper used. The transactions will be automatically submitted for "settlement" so the funds can be processed and transferred to your account. You will be notified via email each time an order is processed, so you can ship your product.

11) Can I process any kind of credit card through the payment gateway?
Currently we support Visa and Mastercard. More cards would be processed soon.
Through the gateway, you can currently process Visa®, MasterCard®, if your merchant account is authorized to process these cards.

12) Is it possible to sell my product and service in more than one currency like dollar, pound, yen, euro etc.? How is the charge reflected in my customers' credit card statement? Does NeonUltra issue me a F.I.R.C (Foreign Inward Remittance Certificate) for all my overseas sales?
You may represent your product pricing in any number of currencies. At the end of the transaction when your client has to checkout to the NeonUltra payment option page, we require that the payment amount is in INR equivalent only. This is because we do not process the final payment in any other currency but INR as we are subject to such RBI rules and Regulations. You need not create a different set of shopping cart links.

13) Can I cancel an order that I have received from my customer? Will I be liable to pay any cancellation fees?
A Sub Merchant can cancel an order with out any Service fees being charged only as long as the order is canceled in the window period. If the sub merchant fails to either capture/cancel in the window period, transaction becomes invalid.

14) What is a credit card chargeback? What is NeonUltra's credit card chargeback policy for its members?
A refund that is forced by a credit cardholder's credit card company is known as charge back. This occurs when a cardholder decides to formally dispute a charge on his/her credit card bill, usually because someone else fraudulently used that card number.
Credit Cards Permit Chargebacks As per VISA & MASTERCARD rules any online transaction can/may also be revoked or refuted by a customer to a Sub Merchant via his card-issuing bank for the following reasons. This is allowable for up to 6 months from date of the transaction.
a) The Sub Merchant has not shipped the goods or delivered the promised service.
b) The Sub Merchant has taken back the goods /canceled the services but not yet issued a refund on the credit card.
c) The cardholder's credit card has been fraudulently used by someone else to procure goods and services - without knowledge or prior agreement of the cardholder.
Our payment gateway service provider, ICICI Bank, have state-of-the-art fraud screening capabilities to reduce risks. However, if any chargeback is reported by the cardholder, you (sub-merchant) will be liable to pay the amount back to us or it will be adjusted with the current balance of your account with us; or you will be liable to refund back the disputed amount back to us. Please note that this practice is universal and is followed by all payment gateway service providers the world over.

15) Will I be able to claim export benefits for all my overseas credit card transactions? (for Indian customers only)
In what currency will my customer be billed? RBI insists that Merchants in India settle transactions in INR only and the respective banks give a foreign exchange inward remittance certificate. We will then pass this certificate on to you, our Sub-Merchant. This would take care of your Income Tax issues, enabling you to claim exports benefits under section 80 HH of the Income Tax Act.

16) Can I sell products that can be downloaded, such as music or software?
Yes, you can also sell the products like music or software.

17) How can I assure my customers that their transactions are secure?
Obviously, if your customers will be submitting their credit card information to you online they will want to know that this information is safe. If they are not comfortable with the security your site offers, they will probably not buy products from you.
The best way to alleviate your customers' concerns is to secure your site using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). When a site is secured with SSL-the standard form of encryption currently used on the Web-visitors will see a special symbol in their browser window that indicates the site is secure. Visitors can also tell that a page is secured by looking at the URL. A secure page's URL begins with the letters "HTTPS" instead of the standard "HTTP."

18) What is SSL?
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a method of ensuring that information submitted through your Web site is secure and cannot be accessed by unauthorized users. When a site offers an SSL-secured form, the information submitted via that form (typically credit card information) is encrypted using a special "certificate key" and then decrypted with another key after it has been transmitted.
